Graduate Student Wins the Wells Fargo Challenge

Longshaokan (Marshall) Wang, a Ph.D. candidate, was selected as one of the winners in Wells Fargo’s Campus Analytics Challenge.

The purpose of the challenge was to develop a repeatable process that identifies, classifies and extracts the underlying drivers of consumer financial conversations and comments in social media data. The prize package includes cash and additional money to cover meals and travel expenses for a three-day/two-night trip in March to attend the 2017 Wells Fargo Analytics Summit and awards ceremony in San Francisco, Calif.

His research advisor is Eric Laber.
