Dr. Shu Yang — Junior Faculty Enhancement Award 2018
Dr. Shu Yang has won the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award! The award provides funding for research by junior faculty at Oak Ridge Associated Universities. These awards enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty and result in new funding opportunities.
Dr. Emily Griffith – Dennis Boos Citizenship Award 2017-2018
This award is made in recognition of Professor Griffith’s outstanding teaching, consulting, and all-around service to the Department. Her welcoming spirit, willingness to take on new tasks such as the Consulting Core Directorship, and her open-door policy make her a role model of Departmental Citizenship.
Dr. Butch Tsiatis – Cavell Brownie Award 2017-2018
This award is made in recognition of Professor Tsiatis’s outstanding record as advisor and mentor to 41 PhD students (26 at NC State) and the 74 papers co-authored with them.
Dr. Dave Dickey – D.D. Mason Award 2017-2018
This award is made in recognition of Professor Dickey’s outstanding contributions to the Department, University, and Statistics Profession since arriving in Raleigh in 1976.
Dr. Fred Wright — 2018 Outstanding Research Award
Congratulations to Dr. Fred Wright for being selected for membership in the Research Leadership Academy and for receiving the 2018-2019 Alumni Association Outstanding Research Award.
Dr. Alyson Wilson – 2018 Distinguished Achievement Award
Congratulations to Alyson Wilson, Professor at North Carolina State University, recipient of the 2018 SDNS Distinguished Achievement Award given in recognition of outstanding accomplishments and sustained contributions at the intersection of the statistical profession and national defense.
Dr. Donald Martin – Diversity Award
Donald Martin has been selected as the 2017-2018 College of Sciences (COS) Faculty Diversity Professional Development Award recipient.
Dr. Eric Chi – NSF Career Award
Eric Chi is our newest NSF Career Award Winner for the his proposal “Stable and Scalable Estimation of the Intrinsic Geometry of Multiway Data.” This is quite an honor for both Eric and the Department.
