Industrial Statistics

Statistics is playing an increasingly important role in business and industry to improve decision making and process optimization. The need for new statistical methodology is driven by a number of factors, including technologies that are generating more and more potentially useful data, more and better computing power and the high costs associated with developing new, or improving existing, products.

Important areas of research include design and analysis of experiments, reliability, computer models and uncertainty quantification, and quality improvement.
