SPAIG Award

The Department of Statistics, along with corporate partner GlaxoSmithKline, received the 2008 SPAIG (Statistical Partnerships among Academe, Industry and Government) award for their collaboration in NC State’s Graduate Industrial Traineeship (GIT) program. The GIT program, which was also publicized in the Feb 08 issue of Amstat News places students at area companies to get hands-on experience and work in teams with excellent
mentors. The award was given at the 2008 Joint Statistical Meetings in Denver.
