The Sports Analytics Club at NC State is a student-run organization led by President Eli Carico, a senior majoring in statistics. The club is dedicated to exploring the world of sports through the lens of data, quantitative analysis, and statistical modeling. Its mission is to give students the opportunity to engage with the analytical side of sports strategy, performance, and management, while building a collaborative community where ideas and projects can be shared.

The club welcomes all NC State students and faculty members, regardless of background or major, and encourages anyone with an interest in sports or analytics to get involved. Members meet weekly on Wednesdays from 6:00–7:00 pm in SAS 2229, where meetings feature a variety of activities designed to keep things both educational and engaging. These include workshops on sports data analysis, “hot take” discussions, trivia nights, and research presentations by student teams.

Beyond weekly meetings, the Sports Analytics Club also hosts guest speakers from the sports and analytics industries, providing members with unique networking opportunities and real-world perspectives. To balance the analytical side with fun and community building, the club also makes an effort to attend at least one live sporting event each semester.

Through this combination of learning, collaboration, and hands-on experiences, the Sports Analytics Club continues to grow as a place where members can deepen their knowledge of sports analytics, strengthen technical skills, and share their passion for the games they love.
