Alumni Spotlight: Chris Franck
Christopher Franck received his Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics in 2010 under the direction of Jason Osborne. From 2010 to 2016, Franck was an assistant research professor in the Department of Statistics at Virginia Tech, where he also served as the assistant director of the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis.

Bruce Weir earned a Ph.D. in statistics and genetics from NC State in 1968. During his tenure as a faculty member at NC State, he was a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor of Statistics and Genetics and was founding director of the Bioinformatics Research Center.
Farewell Message from Department Head – Dr. Fuentes
It is with mixed emotions that I write to say farewell as head of the Department of Statistics. I will be stepping down effective July 1, 2016, to become dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dr. James H. Goodnight is the co-founder, president and CEO of SAS, an analytics software company based in Cary, NC. Goodnight received a bachelor’s in applied mathematics, and master’s and doctoral degrees in statistics from NC State.
