Full-time Lecturer

The Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer (a Lecturer Track position), to begin in August 2021.

Applicant must have a Master’s in Statistics or Biostatistics or equivalent degree or experience, with a PhD in Statistics preferred. Experience and excellence in teaching is required. The initial appointment is expected to be for two years. The position is eligible for subsequent appointments for up to five years in duration.

Duties include a mix of teaching undergraduate and graduate (PhD required) courses (in-person or online), oversight of multisection courses, and advising and mentoring undergraduate majors.

Flexibility in the position allows the successful applicant to choose a nine-month appointment at a minimum of three-quarter time, nominally teaching three courses per semester (.75 FTE); or up to full-time, nominally teaching four courses per semester (1.00 FTE). Nominal course loads are adjusted accordingly for significant non-classroom activities such as multi-section oversight or advising.
