Congrats – Andrew Wilcox and Elizabeth Mannshardt

Andrew Wilcox, graduate student in our program, won the Student Poster Award at the New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports held at Harvard University this Saturday. Andrew’s joint work with Elizabeth Mannshardt on “Baseball Scouting Reports via a Marked Point Process for Pitch Type“, was based on a project for the Advanced Spatial Stats class that was taught with Elizabeth last Fall. It is very rewarding to see all the great work that is generated through out class projects.
