Ice Cream Social

The Department of Statistics launched the 2015-16 academic year on Aug. 21 with its annual ice cream social. Over bowls of Howling Cow ice cream, the department welcomed its newest class of 30 undergraduates, 30 online master of statistics students, 51 graduate students and 46 certificate students.

Bayesian Nonparametrics Conference

The 10th Conference on Bayesian Nonparametrics was held at NC State University from June 22-26, 2015. The conference is a bi-annual international meeting bringing together leading experts and talented young researchers working on applications and theory of nonparametric Bayesian statistics.

Celebrating Our 2015 Graduates

The Department of Statistics held its spring graduation ceremony on May 9. Roughly 30 undergraduate students and 27 graduate students received degrees. With over 350 attendees, it was the best-attended graduation in the Department’s history.
