Functional Data Analysis

Functional data analysis (FDA) is a branch of statistics focused on the visualization, analysis and interpretation of data that exists on a continuum (such as functions or curves). Recent advances in technology allow collection of data at short, high-frequency intervals, resulting in a boom of functional data and its associated methodology.

The FDA group is dedicated to the development, application and sharing of functional data methods within and outside of the NC State community.
